Roles & Responsibilities:
- Storage Management and Administration
- Perform storage administration such as health-check, monitoring, problem resolution, configuration, storage LUN provisioning, SAN switch Zoning and performance tuning for SAN and NAS.
- Setup storage virtualization, data snapshot and volume migration.
- Establish and setup storage level data replication to support Disaster Recover (DR) capabilities.
- Ownership of root cause analysis related to incidents and Investigation into root cause using available information, leveraging vendor knowledge and support and creation of remediation plans to rectify the problem.
- Create and update operational, configuration, and performance health check processes and procedures.
- Create run-books for work done by L1 and L2 operational teams periodically.
- Assess compliance with IT control policies, create and execute remediation plans for gaps identified.
- Prepare storage upgrade and expansion by studying plans and requirements.
- Manage technical projects including evaluation of potential solutions, recommendations, and implementation for improvement initiatives, technology refresh and EOSL replacement.
- Set storage administration processes
- Establish priorities, design, planning, day-to-day operation, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of storages.
- Align storage administration with overall strategic IT service direction.
- Comply policies, procedures, and controls to ensure storage security
- Optimise Storage and SAN Performance
- Recommend process, product or service improvements, resource optimisation and cost savings.
- Oversee hardware, software and firmware upgrades.
- Recommend new technologies, methodologies, systems or opportunities for cost savings, security and service quality improvement.
Requirements:
- Tertiary Education in Computer/Computer Science or Electronics Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in storage technologies and virtualized environment management.
- Experience in working on multiple SAN and NAS storage products, preferably Hitachi, PureStorage, EMC, Isilon, Hitachi NAS and CISCO SAN switches.
- Strong technical IT operations background in storage and server management, server virtualization and disaster recovery.
- Strong knowledge in hardware and systems software, clustering solutions, enterprise SAN, server and storage virtualization technologies, Local and Remote Replication and High Availability Mechanisms.
- Scripting and automation of tasks.
- Team player with strong organization and willing to work with demonstrated resilience in a dynamic environment.
- Must be comfortable to work on a rotational standby support.
