INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT ANALYST (SYSTEM)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Managing or maintaining Microsoft Windows, Oracle Solaris/Unix and/or Redhat/Linux Server in a virtualised environment.
  2. Assist in the management of Operations, Service Levels and Contract Administration of the technologies and infrastructures deployed by the Board.
  3. Assist in the IT Service Management processes, which cover Service Level Management, Incident and Problem Management, Change and Release Management, Configuration Management, Capacity Management, Availability Management, Backup and Recovery Management and Security Management.
  4. Provide governance on the service provided by the Service Provider.
  5. Manage the escalation processes and perform service recovery for incidents that directly impact services or users.
  6. Conduct internal security reviews and assist in internal and external audits.
  7. Support user projects involving infrastructure acquisitions and evaluations.
  8. Review infrastructure capacity and forecast capacity needs for growth and new projects as well as for obsolescence of old technology.
  9. Upgrade the systems in a timely manner to meet such needs.
  10. Review database infrastructure capacity and forecast capacity needs for growth and new projects as well as for obsolescence of old technology.

  12. Ensure the Infrastructure servers and networks systems are adequately secured; and the necessary security tools and monitoring systems are in place to protect against any unauthorized access or attack.

  14. Continually exploit technological advancements or new processes to improve on the robustness, performance or resilience of existing operations and services.


Job requirements:

  • At least 6 years of working experience as MS SQL Server Database Administrator & exposure to other database platforms such as Oracle DB, MongoDB and Maria. DB will be advantageous. OR At least 6 years of working experience in mainframe infrastructure administration specialising in z/OS, CICS, Mainframe network or good working knowledge in Enterprise Storage and related software (e.g. EMC TimeFinder, SRDF, CA1), USS, MQSeries & Automated Operations Software (e.g. CA-ESP, CA-Dispatch, CA Solve, CA-NetMaster)
  • Possess a strong understanding of security practices in server, database, and network
  • Relevant technical certifications in the administration and troubleshooting of the following products will be advantageous:
    • i) Microsoft Windows Server
    • ii) Redhat (Linux) Server
    • iii) VMware Hypervisor
    • iv) Microsoft SQL Server
    • v) Oracle DB Server
    • vi) CISCO Networks
    • vii) Checkpoint Firewall
    • viii) Palo Alto Networks Firewall
  • Good Project Management experience and skills.
  • Certifications in IT Project Management will be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, committed and resulted-oriented team player with strong initiative, ownership and possess good inter-personal and analytical skills.
