Personality tests are no strangers to HR and recruitment firms. Like any other personality test, BaZi is one of the many tools available to help identify our ideal careers and industries. As a recruitment agency in Singapore, we like to be open to all types of personality tests. Let’s learn more about BaZi!

Before we dive into the ideal careers associated with the different BaZi charts out there. It’s important to know how to first generate and read a BaZi chart. There are several free online BaZi calculators out there but some of our favourite ones are Janet Yung’s BaZi generator as well as this free calculator here

Ready to find out how to read your BaZi chart? Follow the steps below for an easy tutorial to finding your ideal career:

    1. Select a calculator: Like any other personality test, most online BaZi calculators will yield similar results. Just pick a calculator that is easy for you to understand.

    2. Enter your personal details: Since the BaZi chart calculates your personality much like a horoscope and/or natal chart. It is best to enter your details as accurately as possible. Some personal details that you might need include your birth date, birth time as well as the country or location of your birth.

    3. Look out for your “daymaster”: In BaZi, your daymaster represents your personality, characteristics and your traits. In short, it represents you! To find out your daymaster, look for the ‘Heavenly Element’ in your Day pillar (see example below).

Keep in mind that the list curated below is not exhaustive. Just like a Myers Briggs Personality Test (MBTI) or the Enneagram Test, it is very common to find two individuals with the same “daymaster” or personality and very different interests. However, in BaZi, there are five different elements to know: Wood, Earth, Fire, Water and Metal. These elements can then be further split down into Yin and Yang.

If your daymaster is ‘Yang Wood’....
